1. Introduction

Stoiya is an iOS app that presents Stoic philosophy as short daily readings, with modern interpretations, categories, favorites, and reminders.

Stoiya is local-first. There is no Stoiya account, no login, no cloud sync, and no Stoiya backend that stores your personal reading data. Your reading activity stays on your device.

This policy explains what Stoiya stores, which third parties are involved, and what choices you have.

2. Information stored on the device

Stoiya stores its core app state locally on your device so the app can work. This includes things such as:

• Favorites
• Reading and seen state
• Selected Stoic categories
• Daily wisdom selection and history
• Reminder settings
• Theme and settings preferences
• Haptic preference
• Philosopher artwork preference
• Onboarding completion state

This data is not transmitted to a Stoiya server. If you delete the app, this local data is removed with it.

3. Purchases and Premium

Stoiya may offer a Premium subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. Stoiya does not receive or store your payment card information.

Stoiya uses Adapty to support product configuration, purchase and restore handling, and verification of your Premium entitlement. Adapty may process device, product, and purchase identifiers that are required for subscription operation.

Your Premium entitlement is determined through Apple and Adapty rather than by your reading data.

4. Notifications

Stoiya can send reminders. These are local iOS notifications scheduled on your device — they are not push notifications sent from a Stoiya server, and your reminder settings are not uploaded anywhere.

Notification permission is controlled by iOS. You can allow or revoke it at any time in iOS Settings, and you can turn reminders off inside Stoiya.

5. Sharing and Photos

Stoiya lets you share wisdom content through the standard iOS share sheet. What you share, and where you share it, is entirely your choice.

If you choose to save a generated image to your photo library, iOS may ask for Photos permission at that moment. Stoiya does not read or browse your photo library.

6. Third-party services

Stoiya currently relies on the following third parties:

• Apple — processes App Store purchases, subscription billing, and delivers the app.
• Adapty — supports product configuration, purchase and restore handling, and Premium entitlement verification.
• Umami — may be used for privacy-friendly analytics on this website when it is configured.

7. Data sharing and tracking

Stoiya does not sell your data. Stoiya does not show third-party advertising and does not use cross-app advertising tracking.

This website may use Umami analytics when configured. Website analytics are separate from the Stoiya iOS app — Umami is not embedded in the app, and website visits are not linked to your in-app reading data.

8. Retention and deletion

Local app data is kept on your device until you remove it. You can clear favorites and change preferences inside the app, and deleting Stoiya from your device removes its local data.

Purchase and subscription records are retained by Apple and Adapty according to their own policies and applicable law.

9. User choices

• Turn reminders on or off in Stoiya, or revoke notification permission in iOS Settings
• Choose which categories and preferences you use
• Decide whether to share content or save generated images
• Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account
• Delete the app to remove its local data

10. Children's privacy

Stoiya is intended for a general audience and is not directed at young children. Stoiya does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, please contact us so it can be removed.

11. Security

Because Stoiya keeps app data on your device, that data is protected by your device's own security, such as your passcode, Face ID, and iOS storage protections. Purchases are handled over Apple's and Adapty's secure infrastructure.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Policy changes

This policy may be updated as Stoiya changes. When it is, the effective date at the top of this page is updated. Continuing to use Stoiya after an update means you accept the revised policy.
